In Chinese tradition, the bean pod (福豆, "fortune bean") is a cherished emblem of blessings and good fortune, and its three beans are often read as a wish for success in every endeavour. The carving is smoothly polished, so the light moves softly across the rounded beans. The jadeite is a translucent white with a cool, clean appearance that pairs beautifully with the warm tone of the gold. The earrings are worn as threaders.
