Modernist silver brooch by the Finnish Tammen Koru, stamped AKT. The brooch features a pronounced geometric design in the shape of an irregular triangle. The surface consists of multiple levels and finishes: smooth polished sections alternate with rougher, highly textured faces. The diagonal lines and the relief give the design substantial depth and cause the light to fall on the silver differently from angle to angle. The piece is not entirely flat. In particular, the upper portion is slightly curved and raised, which seems to be part of the original design and enhances the brooch's sculptural character. On the back the brooch is stamped AKT, the Finnish responsibility/assay mark linked to Alpo Kustaa Tammi and later Tammen Koru, together with the silver content 925. Tammen Koru was founded in Turku in 1954 and is among the well-known names in Finnish modernist jewelry design. The brooch is in excellent vintage condition, with only very minor signs of wear.
