Nicole Lubbers - Achter het zicht XXL

icole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. Her work is characterized by an innovative and idiosyncratic approach to abstract art, in which painting, relief and sculptural elements come together. With rich colours, layered structures and diverse materials she creates powerful works around themes such as resilience, movement, strength and transformation. This is a stretched canvas on a wooden frame. Her international career has seen strong development in recent years. Lubbers was proclaimed Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award from the Municipality of Montecosaro and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. In addition, she was listed among the world’s 100 best female artists and recognized as a Master in Art. Internationally, her work has been shown and is planned for exhibitions in, among others, New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, alongside exhibitions in Dutch galleries. A particularly high point is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. Additionally, Nicole, together with artist Michael Lam, presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Here, Lam’s flowing Single Stroke Painting and Lubbers’ expressive, layered structures meet. The color purple forms the connecting thread between two different artistic languages and symbolizes creativity, spirituality and transformation. Nicole Lubbers’ work is more than decoration. Her compositions invite reflection on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. Each work makes a powerful, tangible statement that endows a space with character, energy and individuality. In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a dollmaker. Her artworks are supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
