etherlands & World – 750+ Advertising, School, Play & Test Money Items – 4 Albums An extensive collection of advertising money, school money, play money, test and demonstration notes, fantasy issues and related collectables, presented in four albums. The collection comprises at least 750 pieces according to the seller’s count, including repeated examples and pieces within sets. Particular highlights include older advertising and political pieces, together with specialist test and demonstration notes. These better collecting items add considerable interest to the collection, alongside the broad selection of school money, promotional material and modern play money. The emphasis is strongly Dutch, with a wide variety of guilder-inspired designs alongside euro-themed material and pieces based on other currencies, including US dollars, British pounds, German marks and French francs. TEST AND DEMONSTRATION NOTES Examples bearing the De La Rue name and “TESTGELD” inscription, with denominations of 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 and 1000. Also represented are notes bearing “Philips Financial Terminal Systems” and “SPECIMEN”, Olivetti Nederland notes inscribed “DEMONSTRATIE-BILJET”, and NCR-branded examples denominated in euros. These specialist test and demonstration designs form a particularly interesting section within the collection. OLDER ADVERTISING AND POLITICAL PIECES An Algemeen Democratische Unie campaign piece names A. van Gent and displays a 50,000-guilder denomination. Another piece combines a German 50,000-mark banknote design bearing the printed date 19 November 1922 with a Dutch NVV message referring to the inflation of 1923 and campaigning against high prices. An insurance advertising piece bearing the name De Onderlinge Levensverzekering Maatschappij “’s-Gravenhage” displays a denomination of one million guilders and the printed year 1956. These are notable examples of the older and historically interesting material included. Printed dates are described as they appear on the pieces and do not establish their actual production dates. SCHOOL, PLAY AND GAME MONEY Dutch imitation banknotes marked for school use, play-money notes and sets, and pieces bearing the names ABN Bank, ABN AMRO and Rabobank. Examples include ABN Bank notes inscribed “Ondernemersspel”, Rabobank “Florijnen”, and several groups with matching designs in different denominations. ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL Numerous banknote-style advertisements, discount vouchers and promotional pieces. Names represented include Q8, Mitra, Free Record Shop, Olympus, Kruidvat/OMO, Gamma and Praxis, together with smaller businesses. Many pieces adapt recognisable Dutch guilder designs through altered portraits, denominations, wording or commercial overprints. MAASTRICHT PREUVENELAPPEN A colourful selection of illustrated Preuvenemint notes, with several years, denominations and designs represented, including half and one Preuvenelap examples. INTERNATIONAL DESIGNS AND RELATED ITEMS US dollar-style advertising and novelty notes, British pound-style promotional pieces, German-language play money, French franc reproductions marked “SPECIMEN”, and notes bearing the name Hutt River Province. Further material includes humorous and carnival-themed notes, miniature and oversized formats, vouchers, coin-like pieces in holders, and packaged play-money sets containing imitation notes and coins. CONDITION AND PRESENTATION Condition varies across the collection. Visible imperfections include folds, creases, staining, edge wear, tears, holes and areas of paper loss on some pieces. Other examples show fewer visible signs of handling. Some packaging also shows wear. The photographs show the contents and their visible condition. Repeated designs and multiple examples are included; the stated total does not represent 750 different types. Offered together as one collection, including all four albums. No redemption value is claimed for the denominations or vouchers. An extensive and visually varied collection combining older pieces, specialist collecting material and a broad range of money-related ephemera.
