Netherlands - Military medal - 2x Dutch Medal for Long Service

• The bronze medal on the right has the text "VOOR TROUWEN DIENST" to be read. The archaic letter N (the fourth case) was used exclusively in the periods 1825–1851 and 1928–1951. From January 1951 (under Queen Juliana) this "N" was officially struck out and the text was changed to "VOOR TROUWE DIENST". • The diameter: In 1928 it was decided to standardize the diameter of all versions (bronze and silver) to 37 millimeters. The medals in the photo show this classic, larger model. • Silver version (Left): Although on the left medal the text appears modernized to "VOOR TROUWE DIENST", the layout, the type of the State Coat of Arms and the size of the orange ribbon still indicate the later Wilhelmina period (towards the transition years around 1948–1951). The suspension is broken.
