NEPAL A carved wooden damyen (sarangi) with a head carved in the shape of a lion’s head, a neck featuring a face emerging from stylized foliage, and a body covered in leather. The back is carved with flowers and foliage. Height: 52 cm. Base. Reference: a similar instrument is housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, object no. 1990.112.5
