Neolithic Collection of 11 Prehistoric Saharan Lithic...

Interesting collection of 11 prehistoric stone artifacts, including several worked points, blades, flakes and small tools produced from different varieties of flint, chert and quartz-rich stone. The group shows a wide range of colors and raw materials, from pale cream and pinkish pieces to brown and translucent flint. Several specimens display clear intentional flaking, retouched edges and pointed forms, including attractive triangular projectile-point types. These objects are attributed to prehistoric populations of the Saharan region of North Africa, where stone tools of this type are commonly associated with the Neolithic period, when hunter-gatherer and early pastoral communities produced sophisticated lithic industries adapted to life in the ancient Sahara. The assortment is particularly interesting because it illustrates several different lithic-working techniques and tool forms within a single collection. Number of pieces: 11 Type: Lithic tools, projectile points, blades and worked flakes Origin: Sahara / North Africa Period: Prehistoric – attributed to the Neolithic Approximate age: Several thousand years old Materials: Flint, chert, quartz and related siliceous stone Condition: Archaeological condition with natural patina, wear and minor edge losses consistent with age Each piece has its own shape, material and surface characteristics, making the lot particularly attractive for a collection focused on prehistoric archaeology, lithic technology or Saharan cultures. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description and show the actual objects offered. Note: Individual typological attribution and exact dating can vary between specimens; the lot is therefore presented conservatively as prehistoric Saharan lithic material attributed to the Neolithic.
