Neoclassical Style Column - 1930-1940 - Classical

eo-classically inspired decorative column crafted in white Carrara marble, a piece that stands out for the nobility of the material and the serene elegance of its proportions. conceived following the canons of classicism, it reproduces the ornamental language of ancient architecture through a refined and decorative interpretation, ideal for enhancing sculptures, busts, urns, or any object of artistic value. The structure rises on a stepped polygonal base that provides visual stability to the composition. The shaft features a slender, slightly tapering profile, decorated with vertical chamfers that evoke the columns of Greco-Roman tradition. The transition between the different sections is resolved with turned moldings of smooth development, lending rhythm and harmony to the design. Particularly noteworthy is the sculptural work of the capitals, ornate with acanthus leaves carved in relief, a classic motif associated with the Corinthian and Composite orders, which adds decorative richness without altering the overall purity of the design. The circular top panel, with simple and balanced lines, completes the piece with a sober and elegant presence. The Carrara marble exhibits a beautiful ivory-white surface traversed by delicate natural gray and ochre veins, giving each face of the column its own singularity. These veins, formed over millions of years, visually enrich the piece and enhance the intrinsic beauty of the stone, adding depth and character to the whole. For its material quality, meticulous workmanship, and pronounced neoclassical inspiration, this column constitutes a decorative piece with great sculptural presence, capable of integrating into both classical interiors and contemporary spaces where an elegant and timeless architectural accent is sought.
