Neoclassical Style Column - 1910-1920 - Floral Alabaster

Stunning and important flowered alabaster column, or 'Breccia di Sciro', in warm tones ranging from cream-white to ocher yellow, with a dense network of dark, brown, gray and greenish veins, creating a strong visual contrast and a typical "flowered" effect. Compared to traditional marble, alabaster has a semi-transparency to light, which gives it a depth and a unique luster. The column's structure consists of a cylindrical shaft segmented by annular reliefs. The upper supporting surface is square with beveled corners, while the lower base rests on a solid octagonal structure.
