Three traditional silvered necklaces, with silver-blue agate and cast glass. Silver-blue agate is a soft, light-blue to silvery quartz variety known for its calming and harmonizing properties. Cast glass is often used in vintage Tuareg jewelry to imitate gemstones. They were made by the Tuareg from the Western Sahara (Niger, Mali). The necklaces/pendants are very finely worked and engraved with silver tubular ornaments and black beads. They contain a low silver content. Dimensions Necklace with silver-blue agate: 28 cm (length measured on the strand only); pendant is 5.5 x 3.5 x 1 cm Necklace with Southern Cross: 29 cm (length measured on the strand only); pendant 7 x 3.7 x 0.05 cm Necklace with blue triangle: 28 cm (length measured on the strand only) and 4.6 x 3 x 0.4 cm The necklaces are in good condition with signs of age and wear. Similar necklaces are depicted in Tuareg, J.B. Cuypers, Fotoboek and tentoonstellingscatalogus, Tervuren, 1994. Purchased on site during a trip to the Sahara in 2020 and 2021. Will be shipped with track and trace.
