Natural Yooperlite sphere – rare UV-reactive collectible- 467.55 g

This extraordinary Yooperlite sphere – also known as sodalite lava, UV sodalite, or a special form of fluorescing syenite – reveals under UV light a virtually magical show. The surface, which is otherwise gray-black speckled, begins to glow intensely orange and creates a living pattern of fiery light islands that resemble glowing magma veins. In normal light the sphere displays an elegant, grainy texture of feldspathic rock components, black mineral fragments, and the typical orange sodalite inclusions. But only under UV light does it reveal its true peculiarity – an effect that makes each piece a rare and highly sought display item, a true highlight especially in collections of fluorescing minerals. The natural luminescence is produced by special sodalite components that occur in this form only in a few places worldwide. As a result, the sphere not only has a distinctive optical impact but is also considered a value-enhancing collector’s item from a comparatively young but highly attractive mining area trend.
