This exceptional Trapiche ruby shows a particularly fascinating and rare crystal formation that clearly sets it apart from ordinary rough rubies. Characteristic are the recognizable, star- to spokes-like structures inside the stone, which give the piece its coveted Trapiche appearance. The surface has an original, natural rough gemstone texture with earthy brown-red to rust-colored areas, dark mineral inclusions, and striking violet-red ruby zones. Depending on the light, the ruby portions stand out with varying intensity and reveal a beautiful depth between purple, wine red, and muted violet. Particularly interesting is the interplay between the rough matrix and the visible crystalline areas. The natural growth zones look almost like a geological pattern and make the piece a striking collector’s item. The Trapiche structure is a rare phenomenon in rubies and gives this rough stone a special mineralogical and aesthetic significance.
