It can also indicate hydrothermal alteration of calco-silicate related to skarns. Belongs to a complex group of silicate minerals, which crystallize as hard and dense in the isometric crystal system. Its intense red color has created demand for this rock as a gem and semiprecious stone. In ancient times, this gemstone was cut and worked as a gem of high value; for example, the Vikings used them as jewelry for funeral ornaments. Meanwhile, Crusaders decorated their armor with the stone to make themselves braver in battle, and victors adorned their swords and shields with the stone for protection. In Greek mythology, this stone plays an important role due to its mention in the episode of Persesone’s abduction to the Underworld. Likewise, in Jewish and Muslim tradition the stone is praised for its splendor. In the Roman Empire and among the pharaohs of Egypt this rock was used to adorn mummified bodies in ancient Egypt, while Romans set it in rings that they used as seals to close valuable documents. Specifically in the 18th and 19th centuries, during the Victorian era, this mineral was very popular, as it was widely used to craft jewelry garments. Psychological properties It is a stone that, on a psychological level, possesses excellent properties, as it attracts a lot of joy, life force, courage, energy, self-confidence, and drive. It is often associated with success and willpower. Therefore, it is considered a strong stone for grounding; it is also attributed with the power to regenerate and release negative behavior patterns, help fight discouragement, failure, sadness, and emotional stability. It promotes self-respect and helps confront feelings of persecution and obstacles. For meditation, it is a stone that helps a lot and permits past-life regressions. Physical properties Physically, the stone plays an important role, as it strengthens the heart and regulates blood circulation. Additionally, it increases blood plasma and, together with white blood cells, improves hemoglobin absorption. Another aspect it improves is capillary vessels, which are strengthened, healing internal and external wounds faster and reducing skin irritations. This stone also helps to vigor many body organs, such as the spleen, kidneys, and liver. It also stimulates the reproductive system and enhances sexual potency, thus protecting the reproductive organs. Garnet is also used in treatments to combat tinnitus, and at the bone level the stone helps treat pain and heaviness in joints, mineral loss in bones, hardening of an organ, and fractures. This would so protect the backbone.
