Nason & Moretti - Bottle - Glass

Bottle / decanter with stopper for liqueurs or wine in transparent blown glass (art glass). The body and neck of the bottle feature a distinctive twisted ribbing (or a spiral optical effect/helical ribbing), created by blowing the glass into a grooved mold and then imparting a manual twist. The silhouette has a circular raised base with a calyx-like foot, an elongated ovoid body that narrows into a long neck and is slightly flared at the opening. The stopper is spherical (a blown-glass disk/globe) with a shaped stem that fits perfectly into the neck. Production: Italy (Murano / Venice) by Nason Moretti (founded in Murano as Nason & Moretti). It bore an adhesive label that came off with various washes. Nason Moretti is one of the island’s most important historic glassworks, renowned precisely for the production of exceptionally fine stemware, goblets, and high‑quality tableware. The spiral twisted effect (“rigadin ritorto”) is a classic hallmark of the Murano glass masters’ tradition at Nason Moretti from the 1970s/1980s. Condition: discontinued.
