Murano glass - Necklace with pendant - Heart to Morise

Entirely handmade in Murano using lampworking, this matinée heart pendant combines the strength of turquoise with the lightness of a glass embroidery. The heart, full and three-dimensional, is formed by flame around a transparent glass core with a pale aquamarine hue. On the surface, thin filaments of opaque turquoise glass are handcrafted, applied one by one by morise: curls, swirls and raised arabesques wrap the heart like precious lace. Between each curl, crystal emerges, letting light filter through and creating a delicate perforated effect. In sunlight, the heart casts reflections and luminous shadows. The pendant is mounted on a finely worked gold-tone drop bail and hangs from a chain of hammered-link with a lobster clasp. The matinée length places the heart at chest level: perfect over a sweater, shirt, or boat-neck dress, even on its own as a single piece of jewelry.
