Multicolored black opal from Ethiopia

5 mm beads Bracelet of 4 grams Wrist circumference 16.5 cm Important: Photos were taken from different angles and under varying lighting conditions to reveal the many facets of this stone. Indeed, black opal has the peculiarity of rapidly changing appearance depending on the intensity and nature of the light that shines on it. Depending on brightness, one can see multicolored flashes or simply a dark base. The first Ethiopian opals were discovered in the 1990s, notably in the Wollo province. These stones are distinguished by their color diversity and translucency. The black opal, with its dark base highlighting vivid color flashes, is particularly rare and sought after. It presents a dark base, often black or dark brown, which enhances the play of colors on its surface. Today, Ethiopian black opal is highly appreciated for its beauty and rarity, contributing to Ethiopia's growing reputation as a major source of high-quality opals. 1.
