Silver dress/watch fob – Art Nouveau – Cylinder escapement – Circa 1890-1910 Elegant small mechanical dress watch, of Swiss origin, dating from the Art Nouveau period, around 1890-1910. This antique watch is distinguished by its delicate dimensions, silver case, and finely worked decoration, typical of the aesthetics of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The back of the case features a superb period engraving in the Art Nouveau style, composed of fluid vegetal motifs, scrolls, and finely carved floral details. A central shield-shaped cartouche, left blank, completes this harmoniously. The white enamel dial is adorned with black Roman numerals and slender elegant hands. Inside, the brass movement is gold-colored and equipped with a cylinder escapement. The bridge bears the inscription engraved “DÉPOSÉ,” while the case carries a Master punch “CPU” inside a diamond. Time setting is done with the small push button next to the gold crown, in accordance with the adjustment system of this type of antique watch. The movement also features a regulation scale R/A (Retard/Advance). Condition and operation Mechanical state: the watch runs. Winding operates correctly and, during testing, it keeps time. Aesthetic state: very good overall condition. The silver case shows a fine natural patina, with light wear marks and small signs of age consistent with its antiquity.
