Montpelier, Vermont. $1 Original. Fr. 380. The First NB. Charter #748. PMG Very Fine 25. A handsome note from the likes of Vermont. This evenly circulated Original Series $1 issued by the First National Bank of Montpelier (Charter# 748) offers no shortage of eye appeal that deserves to be appreciated. From the red-blue Treasury overprint briefly used during the 1860s to lovely penned signatures that speak to the penmanship of Cashier R.J. Richardson and President John A. Page and finally the inherent detail of both Maidens Before the Altar and The Landing of the Pilgrims, bidders have a veritable trophy for their consideration that stands proud among the 41 notes recorded here by the National Bank Note Census. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500. Click here for certification details from PMG.
