Champagne cooler, Champagne ice bucket, cooler, bucket, ice bucket, wine cooler, seau Stunning vintage champagne cooler made for the Montebello house. The cooler is in good condition (see photos), with a rich patina and is fitted with an inset rectangular plaque bearing the text: Champagne MONTEBELLO Chateau De Mareuil s/Ay, rendered in red/white enamel. Montebello Champagne was produced at Chateau de Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the company was founded in 1834 by Alfred de Montebello. This highly regarded Champagne was the house choice on the Titanic. Later the name (1892-1969) was changed to Ayala-Montebello. Heavy professional hospitality champagne cooler from the 1930s/1940s, with sleek Art Deco handles. The bottom is stamped by the maker: ARGIT, Made In France. Argit is an authority in champagne cooler equipment and supplied to virtually all the major houses. A stylish and atmospheric focal point on any table, bar, or party, and of course still perfectly usable. Hardly found anymore, making it an exclusive collectors item.
