Every detail of the Alexander von Humboldt limited edition pays homage to the great naturalist and the great cultural patron. Its spirit of discovery comes to life in minute details in this limited edition. In edition 4810, the back and the body are in Black Grenadille, a luxurious hardwood from the southern hemisphere. The inlays, the clip and the bands are reproduced in Sterling Silver 925, evoking the art of the indigenous people whose culture Humboldt studied during his expedition to South America. The 18-carat gold nib is plated and bears a fine engraving of a sextant, one of Humboldt's favorite instruments that aided his research and his explorations around the world during his voyages of discovery.
