Mivar - Trafton Portable radio

Splendid and elegant example of a Mivar Trafton IC transistor radio, produced in the historic Mivar (VAR) plants in Milan at the end of the 1960s. This model represents the excellence and the boldness of Italian industrial design of the era, capable of uniting a squared chassis with warm wood-effect veining and chrome and metallic finishes of a decidedly space-age style. A true piece of Italian technology history, perfect to enrich a collection of vintage electronics or as a sophisticated object of vintage furniture and modern design. Focus on Design and the Special Antenna The most distinctive and sought-after feature by collectors in this specific model is the particular configuration of its integrated retractable telescopic antenna. Unlike classic radios of the era, the Trafton IC's antenna is integrated and extends from the elegant sturdy carrying handle. Once extended, the antenna not only guarantees excellent reception of FM and MW (Medium Wave) bands, but breaks the radio's geometric and rigorous lines, giving it an asymmetrical appearance with magnetic charm and undeniably vintage appeal.
