Imprint of the American Bank Note Company. Portrait of a well-dressed young girl at center lounging with jewelry and other luxurious items all while enclosed by the bank title and associated guarantee text along with a pair of numerical "2" counters. Subsidiary vignette of a multi-point buck at left opposite a vignette of a defiant eagle that was favored among a variety of Federal Proofs during the 1860s. A pair of counters emblazoned "2" may be found below the top margin. This institution ultimately became the First National Bank of Minneapolis (Charter# 710) in 1865. PCGS Currency comments "Hole Punch Cancelled; Minor Stains; Mounted on Cardstock." Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000. Provenance: From the Caine Collection. Ex. Eric P. Newman Collection.
