Miniature Tibetan Gilt-Copper Alloy Bodhisattva - Bronze - China - 20th century

Description A finely cast miniature figure of a bodhisattva, seated in meditative posture atop a beautifully modelled double-lotus pedestal with distinct, rounded petals rising in graduated tiers. The deity wears an ornate, multi-lobed crown and elaborate beaded jewellery and necklaces; the face is carved with serene, meditative features beneath arched brows, with traces of original pigment remaining to the eyes and ornaments. The right hand rests upon the knee in the gesture of granting boons (varada mudra), while the left holds a small sacred vessel/attribute at the lap. The surface retains much of its original gilding, now mellowed and softly patinated to a warm, deep golden-brown — a charming and devotional object of considerable age and spiritual presence, sensitively cast on a diminutive scale. Dimensions & Weight: Height: approx. 5.7 cm Weight: 69.19 g Condition Crown element and one side petal/ear ornament with old losses and minor chips; base rim with small edge wear and nicks consistent with age and handling; Remaining gilding and surface patina are stable and well-preserved; casting details remain sharp and legible; No cracks, splits or later repairs; all wear is honest and commensurate with the object’s age and use. Shipping Ships to the United States; no insurance included — buyer assumes all shipping-related risks. Track via PostNL: https://www.postnl.nl/ontvangen/post-ontvangen/track-en-trace/ Professionally packed with care.
