Milo (1910-1978) - after - Sculpture

A particularly decorative bronze sculpture of a bird, executed after Milo. The sculpture immediately stands out for its powerful, almost impressionistic modeling and the richly applied texture in the plumage. The bird is depicted in an alert, dignified pose, resting on one leg. The long tail and the roughly modeled feathers give the piece a different character from every angle. The whole sits on a sturdy, also sculpturally worked cube-shaped pedestal and is mounted on a dark, polished natural stone base. The work bears a signature/mark on the pedestal and also carries a separate metal foundry/atelier plate with, among other markings, the inscription “Bronze Garanti – Paris.” A atmospheric and characterful art object that presents itself especially well in a classical interior, a modern gallery setting, an office, or a collection.
