Millville, New Jersey. $10 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 481. Millville NB. Charter #1270. PMG Very Fine 25. A treasure for the issuing bank that predates 1902. This Series of 1882 $10 Brown Back is one of just two pieces recorded for the type on the Millville National Bank (Charter# 1270) out of 85 pieces recorded by the National Bank Note Census. There this example is arguably the finest of the two pieces and has earned an assigned grade of Very Fine 25 since it was initially recorded. Distinct penned signatures attributable to Cashier Herschel Mulford and President Edward H. Stokes may also be noticed and cut a fine contrast against the balance of the overprinted and engraved design that helps to further underscore this as a rare opportunity for an otherwise common bank. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Click here for certification details from PMG.
