Small Bechar 014 (achondrite HED) (Eucrite, Melt breccia) Bechar 014. 30.25293°N, 3.53005°0 Bechar, Algeria History: The meteorite was found during a search in the dense Bechar collection area and was subsequently purchased by the owner of the main mass from a dealer in Algeria. Petrography: Polymict fused-breccia composed of black fusion clasts up to 0.5 mm in size plus mineral grains up to 1.6 mm embedded in a finely recrystallized shock-fusion matrix. The main minerals are enstatite-poikilitic, zoned pyroxene, olivine and calcic plagioclase. Mineral grains dragged into the fusion matrix often show resorption textures. Minor phases include silica, chromite, ilmenite, FeS and baddeleyite. No metallic iron detected. The shipment will be accompanied by an authenticity certificate!
