MEDSAN - Totoro at Mount Fuji (富士山のトトロ) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1 On this square format, Medsan places Totoro on top of a hill, with his back to us, facing Mount Fuji. The big gray creature from My Neighbor Totoro is seated, motionless, with his two ears pricked and his black whiskers protruding from either side of his round silhouette. Against its flank, Mei, in a pink dress, brown hair tied in two pigtails, leans on him and looks in the same direction. A little to the right, the small white Totoro has sat in the same posture. In front of them, the valley opens up: flooded rice fields that reflect the light, a blue lake, the snowy cone of Mount Fuji, and to the right, a red five-tier pagoda tucked among the trees. The sun, white and high in an orange sky, lights up the green and gold foliage of the large tree that covers the left-hand corner. On the ground, a closed black umbrella with a gold handle, a ears of corn, and a few chestnuts. A suspended moment, before the descent. A soft and luminous piece, ideal for bringing a touch of Ghibli to a collector’s interior devoted to the great figures of Japanese animation.
