Maurizio Valch (1972) - (XL) CONGERIES · Lines around a turning mass

Across a dark, shifting terrain, incandescent red breaks against pools of teal, while thin white trajectories stitch the surface from edge to edge. The painting holds motion and suspension in the same breath: fractured forms seem to emerge, drift, or signal across an unstable field. Its decisive detail is the fragile brightness of those lines, which asks whether a path can still be trusted when the ground itself appears to change beneath it. I needed this painting to remain unsettled. I am drawn to the instant when orientation gives way, yet something small and bright continues to mark a direction. For me, painting is not a map of certainty but a place where conflicting impulses can coexist: urgency with stillness, darkness with a form of attention. I paint toward the possibility that being lost may also sharpen the senses. ___ I am interested in how a form can remain isolated and still alter what surrounds it. I do not seek to make these marks describe a path or have their relationships resolve into a recognizable figure. I work with the possibility that a surface can retain traces of passage, boundaries, and presences that never fully reveal themselves. Sometimes, a minimal distance between two elements is enough to change the meaning of the entire territory. **Condition and Shipping** The artwork is in excellent condition, with no damage or restoration. It is shipped unframed and unstretched, carefully rolled inside a protective tube to ensure safe delivery. **About the Artist** Maurizio Valch is a visual artist, writer, and graphic designer. His work explores metaphysical territories, symbolic landscapes, and the relationship between geological space and human consciousness. Through dark fields, incised surfaces, monolithic forms, and structural divisions, Valch creates paintings that suggest the emergence of perception within the territory itself.
