Matchbox Superfast & Series - Exceptional Lot of 31 Scale Models (1969-1987) - Functional Opening Parts & Utility Vehicles Splendid collection of 31 authentic vintage Matchbox miniature vehicles, spanning two decades in the history of the famous brand (from 1969 to 1987). This lot offers a stunning aesthetic and mechanical variety, tracing the evolution of the brand’s engineering from the British golden era of manufacturing to its international transition. The set has been rigorously cataloged, tested, and photographed from every angle (bodies, opening parts, superstructures, and chassis) to guarantee complete transparency. Masterpieces & Rarities "Made in England" (Era Lesney) The lot includes several highly collectible models featuring heavy metal chassis characteristic of the original English production: 1 - Ford Group 6 (no. 45 - 1969): The oldest and rarest model in the lot, witness to the brand’s historical transition, complete with its original bubble windshield. 2 - Porsche 910 (no. 68 - 1970): Beautiful metallic red finish (Candy Apple Red), a sought-after model from the original Lesney era. 3 - Mazda RX500 (no. 66 - 1971): Mythical rotary concept car with its double rear opening and violet-tinted windows. 4 - Saab Sonnett III (no. 65 - 1973): Rare Swedish coupe with a functional tailgate. 5 - De Tomaso Pantera (no. 8 - 1975): White version no. 8 with metal chassis. 6 - Citroën CX Break (no. 12 - 1979): Iconic European model, complete with its original hinged rear hatch (part usually missing). Utility & Heavy Vehicles 100% Operational A selection of trucks and rescue vehicles with all-era mechanisms tested successfully: 7 - Leyland Articulated Truck (no. 30 - 1980): Complete blue metallic articulated unit with a functional tipping bed on a heavy 3-axle chassis. 8 - Fire Engine (1982): Telescopic white ladder fully deployable and 360° rotatable (one gyroscope missing/broken). 9 - Breakdown Van (1985): Tow truck equipped with its functional patented mechanical system (lifting the black tow arm by pressing on the roof deflector). Hook intact. 10 - Horse Box (no. 40 - 1977): Horse transporter with its original functional side access ramp. 11 - Foam Unit "Command Vehicle" (1980): Airport rescue vehicle with a top rotating foam cannon and very fresh original tampography (minor wear on the passenger windshield). 12 - Cattle Truck (no. 71 - 1976): Livestock truck with orange wood-effect rails (left rear bumper broken due to vintage play). Sport, Special & Modern Series (1970s/80s) The lot is completed by superb sporty silhouettes and theme models from factories in Macau, Thailand, and China: 13 - Ford Sierra XR4i "Gemini Rally" (1983): Impeccable race configuration with all sponsor tampography intact. 14 - BMW 3.0 CSL (no. 45 - 1976): Orange variant with opening door and original logo on the hood. 15 & 16 - Lamborghini Countach (no. 27): Shown in two versions (orange checkered, blue checkered), red-orange version with hood opening. 17 . 18 & 19 - Super GT economy series (StarFire BR 23/24, Green BR 13/14, Fluorescent Yellow BR 39/40) with lightweight chassis typical of 1985. Bodies & Aesthetics: The showcase models are in good display-ready condition (bright paints, chrome on the Ford A and the Jeep preserved). . Part of the lot shows authentic patina from use (paint chipping on the more-played-with models like the Ford Bronco or the Pontiac), enhancing their vintage charm. . Structure: Excellent overall integrity. All glazing is intact (except for the micro-impact noted on the Foam Unit), no wheel axles bent, and the vintage suspensions respond perfectly. No original packaging included. An ideal, varied lot ready to join a discerning collector’s display or to serve as a high-quality trade basis!
