A scarce and striking original Japanese Apple Records pressing of Mary Hopkin's "Think About Your Children / Heritage," issued on Toshiba's highly collectible wine-red Everclean vinyl in 1971 (AR 2695). Mary Hopkin holds a particularly significant place in Apple Records history. After being discovered on television by model Twiggy, she was brought directly to the attention of Paul McCartney, who personally contacted her and brought her into the newly founded Beatles label. She became one of Apple's earliest and most important artists outside The Beatles themselves, achieving worldwide success with "Those Were The Days." "Think About Your Children" followed during her Apple period, produced by the renowned Mickie Most. The Japanese edition is especially appealing, pairing the iconic Apple label design with Toshiba's distinctive translucent red vinyl—a format that has become increasingly sought after by collectors of coloured-vinyl rarities from this era. ⸻ Sleeve / Picture Insert (VG): An attractive example overall, presenting with characteristic age-related yellowing and staining, particularly to the inside. Despite the patina of age, the piece remains presentable and graded conservatively at VG. Please study the photographs carefully for a full assessment. Vinyl (NM): Absolutely superb. The striking deep wine-red vinyl retains a beautiful glossy shine with hardly any evidence of handling or play.
