Marsh falcon Taxidermy full body mount - Circus...

Falco di palude (Circus aeruginosus) We are pleased to present a superb mounted specimen of the Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus), a handsome and sleek diurnal raptor, undisputed lord of European wetlands and reed beds. The taxidermist chose for this animal an erect, proud and dominant pose, capable of highlighting its slender silhouette and expanded chest. The plumage is preserved in excellent condition and shows a rich and deep range of browns, chestnut and rust tones on the chest and abdomen, enhanced by clearly defined longitudinal streaks. The focal point of the work is undoubtedly the head: the light-colored head frames a highly magnetic and piercing gaze, brought to life and hyperrealistic by the use of bright glassy eyes in an intense yellow. The powerful hooked beak and the long yellow legs, armed with sharp black claws, complete with scientific rigor the anatomy of the raptor. The harrier perches atop an important vertical synthetic wooden support developed to resemble an old twisted branch or swamp root. The structure, which simulates a rough dark surface, skillfully enriched with crusts of faux golden-green moss, gives the whole piece a strong naturalistic flavor. The taxidermy work is presented in excellent condition. The anatomical proportions have been rigorously respected and the arrangement of the plumage is composed and neat, lending the specimen a muscular rigidity that well simulates the vigilant attitude typical of the animal in nature. A visually impactful lot, unmissable for ornithology collectors, for natural history collections, or as a superb 'statement' furnishing element inside country houses, hunting estates, chalets or elegant classical studies.
