Maritime object - Technifrance Super Navitech - Radiogoniometro - 1970s - Wood

Portable radio receiver and goniometer for nautical/maritime use Vintage maritime radiogoniometer Technifrance Super Navitech from the 1970s, housed in a distinctive nautical-style wooden case. Long waves (LW), medium waves (MW), short waves (SW), and maritime radio beacons Wooden case (often mahogany or varnished plywood) with handle and navigation accessories In excellent cosmetic condition Before the widespread diffusion of GPS and modern satellite systems, safety at sea depended entirely on radiogoniometry (Direction Finding). Mariners used this instrument to tune Radio Beacons (RP band) and coastal stations on medium or long waves. Exploiting the directional properties of ferrite antennas housed in the wooden-oriented arms of the radio, they could calculate the angle of origin of the signal (azimuth). By cross-referencing the data from two or three radio beacons via triangulation, they plotted their exact position on the nautical chart. Tracked shipment.
