Authentic Art Deco/Amsterdam School mantel clock (1930s) with Kienzle movement featuring an escapement! This characteristic chimney clock is a stunning example of Dutch design from the interwar period. The symmetrical wooden case is finished with a high-quality, striking striped veneer, giving the clock a luxurious and warm appearance. The dial features the typical stylized angular Art Deco numerals and a chrome lunette. The clock rests on elegant chrome ball feet. Inside there is the original mechanical brass movement from the German manufacturer Kienzle. This movement is equipped with a balance wheel (escapement) instead of a pendulum. This clock will keep running even if laid on its back! In authentic vintage condition with light signs of aging that suit its age.
