Kennedy & Jacqueline Kennedy — Intimate moment in the White House gardens, 1962 DESCRIPTION: Splendid photograph taken by photographer Manfred Linus Kreiner in Washington, D.C., on November 14, 1962, during the state visit of Chancellor Konrad Adenauer of the Federal Republic of Germany to President John F. Kennedy. The image shows John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy walking side by side in the White House gardens. Far from the official protocol of the state visit, the couple appears in a particularly natural and intimate moment, captured during their tour of the gardens. The vertical framing and the proximity of the photographer highlight the couple’s complicity, while the lush vegetation of the White House creates a private and elegant setting around the two presidential figures.
