M. Alibert - Précis théorique et pratique sur les maladies de la peau - 1818

Complete set in 2 volumes of the Theoretical and Practical Summary on Skin Diseases by Jean-Louis Alibert, physician at the Hôpital Saint-Louis in Paris and an important figure in French dermatology. Paris, Caille et Ravier, 1818. Both volumes dated 1818. Work devoted to the study and treatment of skin diseases, notably based on clinical observations carried out at the Hôpital Saint-Louis. Alibert studies numerous cutaneous conditions, among which are rubrics, syphilides, scrofulas, and various chronic skin diseases. Collation: Volume I: 430 pages, with the inscription “Fin du premier Volume.” Volume II: 582 pages, with the inscription “Fin du deuxième Volume.” Total: 1,012 pages for the two volumes. A homogeneous set in old dark green bindings, the spine bearing the name Alibert, the title Maladies de la peau and the gilded pagination. The interiors are well preserved for a work over two centuries old, with paper still clear overall. Some foxing, small marks and signs of time are visible, as well as slight wear to the bindings, in keeping with the photographs. Complete set of the two volumes, both published in 1818.
