Luís Plá Esterelles (Cárcer 1947 - Valencia 2021) 1964 Studied at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Valencia 1965-70 Studied at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Valencia 1971 Settles his studio in Villafamés, Castellón, together with a group of painters from all over Spain, proposed by Vicente Aguilera Cerni to create a colony of artists and a Museum of Contemporary Art 1971-73 Teaches drawing at the Ribalta Institute in Villafamés, Castellón. 1972 Selected for the Ibiza Biennial 1973 Travels to London to expand studies. 1973-74 Works for the Montpellier Gallery of London in the restoration of 18th-century Valencian paintings. 1974 Spends a year aboard the fishing vessel Concepción del Mar. Shoots a short film and prepares an exhibition on trawling 1974 Meets poet Vicente Andrés Estelles and he writes a poem inspired by his painting "Auca i tenebres de Lluis Pla" 1976 Sets up his studio in El Perelló, Valencia, and prepares works on the Albufera and the Marjal 1978 Travels to India to deepen the world of yoga. After four months of work he holds an exhibition in Delhi through the Spanish Embassy and the Indian Ministry of Culture. 1979 Exhibits works from India in Valencia and the Indian ambassador in Spain opens the exhibition for him 1980 He is granted an exhibition through the Ministry of Culture at the Editora Nacional in Madrid 1981 Travels to Belgium to study Central European Expressionism. There there he meets Frans Minnaert, professor and director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Anderlecht, Brussels. He also meets poet Germain Droogenbroodt, with whom he does some work. 1984 Returns to Spain and works in sculpture (ceramics, resins and porcelain). He meets Joseph Renau with whom he prepares some works that are not executed due to his death 1987 Works at S.Mora ceramics company and receives the Prize of the International Ceramics Fair for quality and design. 1988 Travels to Belgium and is decorated with the Knight's Cross of Merit of the Hispano-Belgian Fine Arts. He is also awarded the Palma de Oro al Mérito Artístico Hispano- 1992 Designs for the Durga company and receives the international prize at the Furniture Fair for design and accessories. 1995 Joins the direction of the Circulo de Bellas Artes 1996 Appointed artistic director of the magazine "Creatio" published by the Circulo de Bellas Artes 1997 They commission his portrait of Miguel Indurain and of Maestro Rodrigo on the occasion of their ninety-five years. He illustrates some drawings for a poetry book by Germán Droogenbroodt. Participates in the magazine "Papers del Canyamelar" with illustrations. German Droogenbroodt writes him the poem "Enarenamiento" inspired by his work. 1998 Illustrates the cover of a book of Spanish poets published in Dutch. Participates in the review "Papers del Canyamelar" with illustrations 1999 Illustrates some poems by Ausiás March for a book published by the Diputación de Alicante. They commission the poster for Moros y Cristianos of the Marítim Towns. He creates the cover of the magazine "Sant Vicent Ferrer al Mar". He illustrates the cover of the folder for the World Congress of Literature and Poetry for the Valencia Beneficence Cultural Center. 2000 He creates the poster for the "Tripartite Meeting of Writers of the Mediterranean Arc" 2001 Participates in a collective exhibition at the Galería Teresa Cuadrado, Valladolid. 2002 Collective exhibition at the Galería Alba Cabrera, Valencia.
