Luigi Surdi (1897-1959) - Natura morta (3)

Luigi Surdi (Naples, 1897 – Rome, 1959) was an Italian painter, known for his style that sits halfway between naturalist realism and a lyrical and expressive vision of reality. He studied at the Naples Art Institute. Debut: He began exhibiting in 1921 at the National Art Exhibition of the Grigio-Verdi in Naples. Major exhibitions: He participated in several editions of the Venice Biennale (from 1924 to 1942) and in all editions of the Quadriennale di Roma at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni from 1931 to 1960. His works combine a pronounced attention to the details of naturalism with a quick, synthetic and dynamic brushstroke. Lot consisting of 3 oil paintings on cardboard, finely framed with a gold-colored decorated mat. Original frame. Strawberry Tree, Mandarin, Onio
