Lucio Del Pezzo (Naples 1933 – Milan 2020), born in Naples, was among the founders of Group 58 together with Mario Persico and Guido Biasi. In the 1960s he moved to Paris, where he lived and worked for twenty years, tying himself to the prestigious Galerie Maeght and participating in the Venice Biennale (with a solo room in 1966) and the Milan Triennale. His work fuses irony, geometric rigor, references to Metaphysical De Chirico and to Pop Art, transforming archaic objects and symbols into totems and casellari of conceptual art visually unmistakable.
