Louise Michel - Lettre autographe signée pour dénoncer le...

Very beautiful letter from Louise Michel, with the restrained and determined character that marks her in her defense. "Friends warn me through a Belgian newspaper and accuse me of my personal affairs in a way that forces me to reply, since it is not really about me at all. I am trying to make this reply as tactful as possible. I will therefore say only this: for the past two years, going to three or four meetings every day, I have not been able to work sufficiently; friends have felt obliged to help me — especially those mentioned in the article in question [Clemenceau, Rochefort?] — and who had already taken care of my mother during my prison sentence, I ADD NOTHING." (signed) LOUISE MICHEL June 1, 1889 (The Belgian newspaper that particularly denigrated Louise Michel during the centennial of the French Revolution is L’Indépendance belge.) She then gives numerous lectures in France and Belgium. Sale in the EU only for costly and lengthy customs reasons.
