Secretary / fold-down front, Louis XV-style oak carved bar cabinet – 20th century Description: Beautiful fold-front secretary desk (or bar cabinet) in Louis XV / Regency style in solid oak and veneered sections. This elegant and very practical piece combines the charm of classical cabinetmaking with functional features. Facade and fold-front: Large drop-front door adorned with a molded panel and a central relief-carved motif featuring a rocaille shell framed by volutes. The fold-front opens to reveal an interior space equipped with a glass shelf and a back mirror (ideal for a liqueur bar or an occasional piece). The top surface is held open by sturdy metal supports. There is a lower drawer with two patinated bronze/brass handles decorated with foliate motifs and shells. Finishes and Pedestal: Sculpted uprights with a drop of flowers / stylized botanical motifs at the top. Lower contoured belt adorned with a large shell carved at the center. Sits on four cabriole legs ending in imposing claw-and-ball feet. Origin and Period: Period: Second half of the 20th century (circa 1960–1980). Probable origin: France or Belgium (traditionally oak, rustic chic style).
