Louis De Héricourt - Les loix Ecclésiastiques de France...

Rare edition of this important synthesis work on French ecclesiastical law under the Ancien Régime and on the legal organization of the Church of France - Louis de Héricourt, a recognized jurist and canonist of the 18th century, seeks to present in a methodical way the entire set of rules governing the institutional, administrative, patrimonial, and judicial life of the Church in the kingdom, taking into account both canonical law, the usages in force in France, royal ordinances, judgments of the sovereign courts, and the special liberties of the Gallican Church - The very title of the work emphasizes the will to place the “ecclesiastical laws” in a rational order, in order to make accessible a legal field that is particularly complex, formed by the accumulation of canonic texts, pontifical decisions, councils, customs, and provisions peculiar to the French monarchy - Louis De Héricourt - The Ecclesiastical Laws of France in their Manual Order - 1756 - PP.
