Lot 175 - Two large Chinese red lacquered leather

Each of rectangular form, constructed with a leather-covered body and finished in red lacquer, decorated in relief with pairs of phoenixes amongst scrolling floral branches and peony blossoms. The hinged covers are fitted with metal locking clasps, with carrying handles to the sides. Each measuring approximately 78 × 53 × 23 cm.
