Longines - Heritage - L2.745.4 - Men - 2010-2020

Longines Heritage L2.745.4 – 40 mm – automatic chronograph – silver-colored dial – leather strap – caliber L651 A characterful Longines Heritage chronograph with reference L2.745.4, housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case. This model combines a classically inspired design with an automatic chronograph and a striking silver-colored dial with large Arabic numerals. The combination of blued hands, three recessed sub-dials, date display and classic chronograph pushers gives the watch a distinct vintage look. The watch is worn on a black leather strap; this strap is not original. The Longines-signed deployant clasp is retained. ────────────────── Basic information Brand: Longines Collection: Heritage Reference: L2.745.4 Case diameter: 40 mm Case material: stainless steel Movement: automatic mechanical Caliber: Longines L651 Functions: hours, minutes, central second, date and chronograph Dial: silver-colored Crystal: sapphire crystal Band: black leather strap, not original Clasp: Longines-signed deployant clasp Frequency: 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour ────────────────── Important details The Longines Heritage L2.745.4 stands out for its classically styled chronograph layout and clear references to historic sport and pilot chronographs. Notable features include: Large stylized Arabic hour markers Silver-colored dial with brushed finish Blued central hands Three lighter sub-dials for contrast Chronograph with central chronograph second hand 30-minute counter 12-hour counter Small seconds Date window between 4 and 5 o'clock Outer minute scale with Arabic five-minute markers Classic round chronograph pushers Longines-signed crown ────────────────── Year of manufacture Estimated year: circa late 2000s / early 2010s. The Heritage series from this period combined designs from the historic Longines archive with modern automatic movements and contemporary case constructions. ────────────────── Case The round case is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 40 mm. The predominantly polished finish gives the watch a classic appearance. The long, slightly curved lugs complement the vintage character of the design. On the right side are the crown and two separate chronograph pushers. On the opposite side of the case is a recessed corrector. The case shows clear signs of wear. The polished surfaces have hairlines, scratches and locally more pronounced superficial wear. Wear is also visible around the case flanks and at the lugs. This is consistent with a worn example. ────────────────── Dial The silver-colored dial is one of the most recognizable elements of this edition. The central zone has a subtle brushed texture. Large outlined Arabic numerals give a sporty look, while the fine scale graduations around the dial lend the design the character of a classic instrument chronograph. The blued hour and minute hands feature a light inlay and contrast strongly with the silver background. Under 12 o’clock lies the Longines logo and the winged hourglass. Above the lower sub-dial is “AUTOMATIC.” The three sub-dials are neatly arranged across the dial: – Small seconds at 9 o’clock – 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock – 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock Between 4 and 5 o’clock is the slanted date window. The dial and crystal present clean, legible appearance. ────────────────── Chronograph The watch features a fully mechanical chronograph function. The top push button starts and stops the chronograph. The bottom push button resets the chronograph hands. Elapsed time is indicated by the central chronograph seconds hand together with the 30-minute and 12-hour counters. Thus the watch can mechanically record longer time intervals in addition to normal time display. ────────────────── Movement Inside is an automatic Longines chronograph caliber from the L651 family. Caliber: Longines L651 Type: automatic mechanical chronograph movement Basis: ETA/Valjoux 7750 family Frequency: 28,800 A/h Frequency in Hz: 4 Hz Chronograph: yes Date: yes Power reserve: about 42 hours The movement is automatically wound by wrist movement and can also be wound via the crown. ────────────────── Timegrapher measurement The performed measurement yields the following values: Rate deviation: 0 seconds per day Amplitude: 288° Beat error: 0.0 ms Lift angle: 52.0° Frequency: 28,800 A/h These are very neat readings at the moment of testing. A timegrapher measurement is always a snapshot and does not constitute a guarantee of future accuracy or the complete technical condition of the movement. ────────────────── Crown and pushers The watch features a large ridged crown with Longines engraving. Above and below the crown are the two polished chronograph pushers. These round pushers suit the Heritage series’ historical design. On the opposite side of the case is a small recessed corrector. ────────────────── Case back The closed stainless steel case back bears several engravings, including: LONGINES HERITAGE Reference L2.745.4 ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE In the center is an individual serial number also engraved. The case back shows clear superficial scratches and signs of wear, consistent with regular wear and contact with the skin. ────────────────── Leather strap The watch comes with a black leather strap with a crocodile pattern. This leather strap is not original. The strap shows clear signs of wear, including creasing, wear around the used holes, and wear at the edges and lugs. The strap is still usable but visibly worn. The mounted deployant clasp is Longines-signed and features the winged hourglass logo. The current combination is suitable for an approximate wrist circumference of 19–20 cm, depending on the used hole and preferred wear. ────────────────── Condition Case: worn with hairlines, scratches and locally more significant signs of wear Bezel: light to normal signs of wear Crystal: clean and clear appearance Dial: clean condition Hands: clean condition Crown: Longines-signed Chronograph pushers: present Case back: several superficial scratches and signs of wear Strap: not original and clearly used Clasp: Longines-signed deployant clasp Movement measurement: 0 s/d, 288° amplitude and 0.0 ms beat error ────────────────── Overall condition A handsome Longines Heritage L2.745.4 automatic chronograph in worn but well-kept condition. The 40 mm steel case, silver chronograph dial, large Arabic numerals and blued hands give this model a strong classic look. The case and back show the usual signs of wear, while the dial and crystal present themselves neatly. The black leather strap is not original and shows clear signs of use. The Longines-signed deployant clasp is present. Technically, during the momentary assessment the watch shows a rate deviation of 0 seconds per day, combined with an amplitude of 288° and a beat error of 0.0 ms.
