The gaze travels over the nearby terrain and extends toward a wide blue band that opens at the horizon, while the sky, broad and bright, occupies much of the composition. In the foreground appear grasses, shrubs, and plants in green, yellow, and orange tones that frame the scene. The combination of field, sea, and sky creates a sense of expansiveness and freedom, as if the viewer were standing at a natural viewpoint overlooking the coast. At the bottom, the terrain forms an irregular slope crossed by light areas that may suggest a pathway through the vegetation. The greens mix with intense yellows, ochres, and reddish brushstrokes, while deeper shadows accentuate the undulations of the ground. On the left, taller plants rise and stand out against the sky; some show small warm touches that animate their silhouettes. In the center and toward the right, the vegetation becomes lower and reveals a small group of buildings, whose red-tiled roofs seem to blend into the landscape. Beyond the hillside, the sea stretches across a band of blues and greens that crosses the horizon. Its surface seems calm, though color variations suggest reflections and slight changes in light. The coastline line is marked by some dark shapes and by the vegetation that accompanies the houses. This bluish band clearly separates land from sky and guides the eye into the distance, where the tones become softer and gradually blend. The sky adds brightness and movement to the whole. Its clouds, with broad and irregular shapes, combine whites, pale blues, and yellowish hues, while near the horizon there are pink and orange touches. These warm tones balance the sea’s coolness and suggest changing light, perhaps early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The vastness of the sky contrasts with the denser vegetation in the foreground and enhances the sense of depth of the panorama. Overall, the painting represents a coastal landscape in which hillside vegetation leads the eye toward houses, the sea, and a sky full of light. The yellows and greens of the terrain contrast with the blues and whites of the horizon, while the warm tones of the sky add a welcoming note to the scene. The composition invites imagining a walk to the viewpoint and pausing before the expanse of the water. It is a serene and luminous view that conveys the beauty of a setting where the countryside and the coast meet.
