Lip - Marcello Furlan - Statue

Refined and heavy solid Murano glass sculpture depicting a stylized Fish, created by the renowned avant-garde designer Marcello Furlan for the LIP manufactory (Vetri per Arredare) in the year 1990. The work is characterized by a slender silhouette with strong vertical development, masterfully embodying the postmodern and ironic taste typical of the artistic partnership between Furlan and the LIP furnace at the turn of the 80s and 90s. The body of the fish is shaped from a solid block of transparent glass with pale green/aquamarine hues. The hot-applied hand-made additions include a conspicuous and elaborately undulating dorsal fin in aventurine pink glass, large protruding eyes in blue/light blue glass, and a mouth applied on the side in red glass, creating a bold and distinctive color contrast. The work carries a double original certification: • Autograph signature: Diamond-point inscribed on the base "Marcello Furlan '90". • Manufacturer's mark: It shows on the central body the iconic original blue transparent label of the manufactory "LIP". Dimensions of the piece: • Height: 20 cm • Overall maximum width: 9 cm • Base thickness: 4 cm Technical details and conditions: • Author / Designer: Marcello Furlan • Producer / Manufactory: LIP - Vetri per Arredare (Murano) • Material: Artistic Murano glass (solid glass work) • Conditions: Excellent vintage condition.
