Limoges - Small Limoges Vase France, cobalt blue and gold, Gallant Scene, Hand Rehaussé Small Limoges porcelain vase, France, with a gilded knob lid, a collectible piece for a display cabinet. The body is cobalt blue enamel, decorated with gilded floral motifs. On the front, a small oval cartouche contains an eighteenth-century-style gallant scene: a couple in a garden with classical ruins in the background, rendered in delicate pastel tones. The piece is marked on the base with the green stamp "Limoges France" and the gold inscription "Rehaussé Main", indicating that the gilded decoration has been refined and applied by hand over the base decoration — a technique typical of Limoges manufactories in the 20th century.
