Description: Superb and rare vase from the Saint-Denis glassworks by François-Théodore Legras (1839-1916), a famed master glassmaker of the Art Nouveau era. This imposing 36 cm high model features an elegant baluster form. It is made of blown glass tinted green, with a frosted background, offering a stunning contrast with the bass reliefs acid-etched and gold-enameled. The vegetal decoration is rich and finely executed: it consists of large ivy or grape leaves engraved and gilded, with engraved and iridescent fruits (pendants) characteristic of the artist’s prestige series. • Signature: “Legras” engraved on the shoulder. • Dimensions: Height 36 cm Maximum body diameter: 14 cm Weight: 1.7 kg (Large-size model). • Era: Circa 1900. Condition: The piece shows no chips, cracks, or restorations. The gilding is in good condition. There is a manufacturing bubble within the body of the vase, almost invisible.
