Le Yack - Before the First Note - Hand signed

On the terrace of a modernist villa facing the sea, a pianist in a white tuxedo sits in front of a grand piano with its lid open. He is not playing yet. Hands on his knees, he gazes at the sea. In front of him, two empty chairs. Further down, a burgundy coupe is parked facing the open sea. We think of the great jazz pianists who played for the villas along the coast, and of the silence described by Miles Davis: music is also the notes you don’t play. For whom are these two chairs? Can the concert begin without them? The golden light of the house, the black lacquer of the piano, and the blue of the ocean compose an elegant and silent canvas.
