Authentic vintage LeCoultre Memovox watch with alarm function (Wrist Alarm) from the 1950s. This is the version produced for the American market, recognizable by its signature « LeCoultre » on the dial (instead of Jaeger-LeCoultre). The case was made in the United States by the prestigious Star Watch Case Company to meet the customs regulations of the time. A magnificent piece of horological history, 100% original and “as found”. Specifications: • Brand: LeCoultre Model: Memovox Wrist Alarm Period: 1950s / 1960s Movement: Manual-winding mechanical (double mainspring: one for the time, one for the alarm). Case: 10 karat gold-filled (10K). Clearly visible regulatory interior markings: "Cased and timed in U.S.A. by LeCoultre Watch" with serial number. Crown: Two original crowns (2 o'clock for the alarm, 4 o'clock for the time). Dial: Original dial with applied indices, blued steel dauphine hands, and a central rotating disc for setting the alarm. Condition & Function (To read carefully): • Aesthetics: The watch shows a very pronounced patina on the dial tied to time (oxidation spots that give it a unique vintage charm). The case bears signs of natural oxidation (verdigris at the lugs) but no major deformities. The watchmaker engravings inside the case back attest to past servicing. Mechanical: The watch runs and the alarm function activates. Note a drift of about one second per day, likely requiring cleaning and adjustment of the mechanism. Sold without box or original papers.
