Young artist exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in September 2025 on the occasion of the day dedicated to French Young Creation, Laurent Anastay-Ponsolle is a French expressionist artist born in 1982. Drawing, painting, collage, performance are the languages he explores with force and spontaneity. This work is the fruit of a performance with the contemporary dancer Mathilde Plateau. It is a painting created with acrylic and charcoal. Between automatic writing and choreographed gesture, the artist paints and draws in motion, letting himself be carried by the movements of the dancer. To better discover the approach, here is a video of another performance given at the Carreau du Temple in Paris: https://vimeo.com/826698655?fl=pl&fe=sh The whole is a very "brut", "raw-skinned" and "sensitive" quality, traits of German figurative Expressionism, a current in which the artist fully identifies. It is signed on the back, by the artist’s hand. Note, the work is slightly irregular at the bottom left; it is recommended not to stretch it on a frame, but to hang it on the wall directly, like a tapestry or a curtain.
